“Heavy Like” is a song about feeling stuck. I began writing it during the pandemic as the weight of inertia bore down. It was a feeling I knew but often pushed away.

But this time instead of resisting, I wondered: what if I moved closer to that ache?

Named it.

Listened.

Might I discover something lurking underneath? I certainly had nothing to lose….

Note: Writing this, I’m reminded of a similarly- themed song I wrote many years ago. It was called “Stir Crazy.” “Heavy Like” is definitely its close cousin though made with the help of computer bits plus it was born in Los Angeles versus NYC.. Spoiler alert regarding “Stir Crazy.” I performed it at the legendary CBGB’s round ’91 with a fabulous short-lived band/ project called 300 Dog Power. I’ll see if I can dig that up too…
