“Heavy Like” is a song about feeling stuck. I began writing it during the pandemic as the pull of entropy and weight of inertia bore down. It was a feeling I knew but often pushed away.
But this time instead of resisting, I wondered: what if I moved closer to that ache?
Named it.
Listened.
Might I discover something lurking underneath? I certainly had nothing to lose….

Note: Writing this, I am reminded of a song I wrote many years ago of a similar theme. It was called “Stir Crazy.” “Heavy Like” is definitely its close cousin, but made with the help of computer bits. I will find a way to share that too…
